Tactical training for film & TV

Tactical performance training shaped around character, story and the demands of a film or television scene.

Start with who the character is.

A character’s role, background and situation affect how the performance reads. We work with performers and production teams to establish that context, then prepare the screen action within the direction and agreed production arrangements. The aim is a credible performance that can be repeated across takes.

Train for the shot.

Rehearsal needs room for movement, timing, eyelines and continuity. A performance must work with the camera and the rest of the cast. Our approach brings armoury, stunt and action experience into that preparation, rather than treating a screen scene as an isolated firearms exercise.

Open courses or a production brief.

For individual performers, Urban Action offers structured action training in North Wales. For a production, bespoke cast training starts with your scenes, rehearsal time and filming schedule. We agree the work and its boundaries with the relevant production departments. Training does not replace the production’s briefings, risk assessment or appointed specialists.

Preparation and on-set continuity.

Ty Hopkins’s listed roles on Son of the Soil include production supervisor and tactical advisory. Dark Roc can discuss preparation alongside on-set advisory, so the intended performance can be carried through into the shoot. Availability, locations and responsibilities are agreed for each production.
