Firearms training for stunt performers

Screen firearms training for stunt and action performers, taught by working film and television practitioners in North Wales.

Make the action belong in the scene.

A convincing performance has to hold together across rehearsal, direction and repeated takes. Dark Roc training gives stunt and action performers time to work on screen presence, movement and continuity alongside the fundamentals of safe handling under instruction. We teach for the camera and the production environment.

Choose the work you want to develop.

Urban Action focuses on the physical action and movement side of screen performance. There are training-only and media options. Reel Action places more emphasis on character and filmed scenes. Read each course page for its format and current availability; contact us if you want to discuss which suits your aim.

No previous firearms experience needed.

You do not need to send us an experience history. We teach the fundamentals and coach the work in front of us. Training equipment is provided. Joining instructions explain the documents, clothing and practical arrangements you need. Completing a course does not confer a professional licence, stunt qualification or guarantee of work.

Experience on both sides of the preparation.

Redd Nicholson’s listed work includes stunt performance on Heads of State and armoury on Missing You. Ty Hopkins’s listed work includes action performance on The Beekeeper and armoury on Take Cover. Those are individual roles: see the credits for the full attribution. For a specific production, we can discuss cast preparation around the scene and schedule.
