DO I HAVE TO DO ANY OTHER FIREARMS COURSES BEFORE ATTENDING A DARK ROC COURSE?

In short, no. Dark Roc training courses are tailored to ensure safety and fundamentals with firearms for TV & Film are at the forefront. This in turn allows our courses to be accessible to anyone within the industry wishing to upskill in this specialist area.
DO I NEED TO BE BSR OR SPOTLIGHT REGISTERED TO ATTEND DARK ROC COURSES?

Absolutely not. Dark Roc prides themselves on being the only accessible course in the industry for anyone wishing to give themselves a USP.
ARE DARK ROC COURSES SPOTLIGHT ACCREDITED?
​
Spotlight does not accredited courses of this nature. All personal skills should be added to the 'free text' section of a performers spotlight and in turn their algorithms will eventually add Dark Roc courses to the drop down section.
DO DARK ROC ACT AS AN AGENCY FOR THOSE WHO ATTEND THEIR TRAINING?

We do not. We do however, have access to networks, productions and coordinators who regularly reach out for our advice and suggestions on performers.
WHERE DOES DARK ROC TRAIN?
​
Our training facilities are purpose built and used by Government, Military and Specialist Rescue. We pride ourselves on being able to fully immerse performers in real world training to really bolster confidence and performance that can be translated to screen.
HOW OFTEN DO DARK ROC RUN COURSES?
​
Courses are released each quarter and run over weekends throughout each month.
DO I RECEIVE ANY CERTIFICATION AFTER ATTENDING A COURSE?
​
We offer internal certification, however, this type of training cannot be certified due to constraints in UK Law.
DO ALL COURSES COME WITH A SHOWREEL?
​
Edited media packages are available as an add-on and for an additional fee. This includes a fully edited showreel with a performers choice of music of up to 1 minute in length (industry standard) as well as up to 10 images.
WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE ANY FIREARMS EXPERIENCE?

We welcome all abilities and strive to bring all participants up to a good standard of Firearms Handling, Safety & Etiquette within any one course.
WHAT IF I HAVE LOTS OF FIREARMS EXPERIENCE?
​
Any experience gained outside of Dark Roc will always be considered, however to ensure safety and equality all participants will be treated the same regardless.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
​
Dress as you want to be seen. However, we always advise weather appropriate clothing and sturdy boots. Our team will frequently update participants leading up to the course on predicted weather and suggestions for additional outer wear. Please note, our weather systems can be unpredictable and so is never guaranteed.
DO YOU HAVE ON SITE ACCOMODATION?

No. As part of the joining instructions, a link is sent out showing local places to stay.
CAN I BRING MY OWN [FIREARM] [ACTION CAMERA] [ACCESSORIES] [EQUIPMENT]

FIREARM - NO - All weapons will be provided by Dark Roc Ltd. Anyone found to have brought unsanctioned weapons to this course will be asked to leave.
ACTION CAMERA - NO - All media is captured by our In-house Cinematographer
ACCESSORIES - YES - Any accessories, however, must first be cleared by Dark Roc Ltd prior to a course
EQUIPMENT NOT MENTIONED ABOVE - Anything believed to be outside of the aforementioned categories must be brought to Dark Roc Ltd prior to a course for a decision to be made.
